Mazatlan’s Top Carne Asada Mexican Food

Mazatlan’s Top Carne Asada Mexican Food

There’s nothing like biting into some juicy, well prepared carne asada. The traditional Mexican staple gets its roots from a northern region in Mexico called Sonora. Carne asada begins its vibrant history from a centuries old practice of raising herds of cattle. The Sonora rancher history dates all the way back to the 1500s when the first Spanish colonizers arrived on the American continent. It is believed that at this time, the first thinly sliced, grilled beef stuffed into a corn tortilla was created. The region continued to focus on ranching as the beef dish gained popularity and became a mainstay.

The traditional bbq is as synonymous with the US as carne asada is with Mexico. It is truly the equivalent. Carne asada is the go-to for large gatherings and celebrations. Traditionally, a large charcoal fire pit is used for making this delicious meat. The best cuts for carne asada are typically flank and skirt steaks as they are juicy and flavorful; the latter being more tender.

The marinade is a key element of making a wonderful carne asada. In Mexico, families created their own marinade recipes, further evolving the flavors of the delicious dish. Carne asada became a popular choice of meat in fajitas, burritos, and quesadillas.

Mazatlan is committed to maintaining that authentic preparation of carne asada that is so reminiscent of traditional Northern Mexican cuisine.

We would love to share some of our favorite carne asada dishes at Mazatlan with you and your family!

Our A La Parrilla menu here in Everett offers fine cuts of carne asada that are served with either flour or corn tortillas and rice with beans. Our carne asada can be enjoyed as the following plates:

Carne Asada Fajitas:

Fajitas are traditionally prepared and served on a skillet. Our fajitas use a skirt steak sautéed with bell peppers and onions. The delicious dish is served alongside guacamole, sour cream, cheddar cheese, and lettuce.

Carne Asada Burrito

A classic Mexican staple, the carne asada burrito is a crowd favorite at the Everett Mazatlan. Our mouth-watering burrito is served as a flour tortilla filled with charbroiled skirt steak, beans, and rice topped with lettuce, pico de gallo, guacamole and sour cream. Now tell me that doesn’t sound delicious!

Carne Asada Quesadilla

Fun fact: The literal translation of quesadilla is “little cheesy thing.” Our carne asada quesadilla packs a big flavor in a classic dish. The cheesy dish consists of several tortillas with melted Monterey Jack cheese and skirt steak garnished with pico de gallo, guacamole and sour cream.

Not only is carne asada a delicious Mexican dish, but one that is deeply rooted in heritage and flavor. Mazatlan is the perfect family-owned restaurant offering a taste of authentic Mexican cuisine.
