Mexican Restaurant vs Food Truck

Mexican Restaurant vs Food Truck

Food Trucks have immensely increased in popularity over recent years. In the Seattle region specifically tru
cks have been speeding through the neighborhoods with no intentions of braking. Food trucks can be found on street corners, breweries, parks, and some put down roots to become full-time brick and mortar restaurants. Why exactly is that? Let’s dig in and talk about some of the major differences between a Mexican Food Truck and a Mexican Restaurant.

Dining Experience

First and foremost, what are your reasons for eating out of your home? Sometimes you’re looking to discover something new you can’t make at home, maybe it’s a date night or a night off from the kitchen. Whatever your reason, the dining experience is going to be completely different if you’re in a typical restaurant versus dining out at a food truck. Typically with a food truck you will be at a brewery on picnic tables or get it from a street corner or parking lot to take it home or eat from your car. The difference in comfort, and full level of services, and ambience. The difference in experience is night and day when you compare a typical restaurant to getting food from a truck.

Food Availability

Space is at a premium in food trucks. Storage is limited so usually food trucks operate from smaller menus based on what they’re able to purchase and fit in their food truck each day. Sometimes you’ll arrive at a food truck only to realize they’re out of what you want because there was not enough stock to handle the demand of that day. You’re less likely to miss out on the dish or meal you want at a restaurant which has more storage and a bigger menu capable of handling a bigger crowd.

Long Lines and Wait Time

Speaking of crowds, sometimes you’ll encounter them at a food truck. This comes back to experience. The wait for your food while dining in a restaurant is much different from a food truck. At a truck, if you encounter a line then there’s usually still going to be a wait on the other end. As you may wait 10 minutes to place your order, you still have to wait through all the customers ahead of you in the line for your order to be made and ready for you to come back to the window to get. Whereas when you’re dining at a restaurant, you typically are able to order as soon as you sit down from a server who comes to your table. When you wait for your food to arrive, you’re seated with drinks and it’s an all around more pleasant experience.

Full Bar vs Limited Drink Selections

Thinking about drinks, most restaurants have full bars or at least the ones with liquor licenses. Regardless there’s always going to be a variety of drinks in a restaurant. A food truck would not carry a liquor license so your drink options are limited to water bottles and soda or juices they have. Unless the food truck is located at a brewery or some other controlled outdoor event then you have the selection of drinks offered by that brewery or event to supplement what you could get at a food truck. It doesn't compare to a freshly made margarita you could get when you dine with us.
